Maria Teresa De Azucena was born in ?El Salvador under a family of bohemians where she discovered her passion for arts, between music, poems and songs. She graduated from the Universidad Evangelica de El Salvador with a bachelor degree in education and a minor in arts. She successfully runned a pre-school named ?kinder Las Abejitas? where she practiced her love for art in murals and artistic projects for children. With her whole family moved to live in Miami Florida, where she began her fine art paint training under the tutelage of great artists like Roselis Pena, whom she learned the pastel technique; Ana Maria Hoyos a Colombian subrrealist who taught her the oil techniques and Maria Amparo Escobar, who under her direction she discovered her stile and expression forms, where the bright colors full of light showed her personality. She learned to create using nature, where flowers, fruits, landscapes and persons show us something dramatic and occult, in which she wants to express not only her fillings or her spiritual scent but to delight the expectation. For now her first painting priorities are still life and flowers mixed with sunsets full of light texture and colors, sunsets that you can easily appreciate in South Florida. In most of her paints you can see drops of water adding not only a touch of freshness, illusions and virtue but her ability in the transparent technique. Maria Teresa continues her studies and art enrichment in order to keep expressing in her canvases what life is given it as a gift to her.
